Reflection
Church for life
John Paul II said:" The doctrine of Church is now in a social and cultural context which makes it more difficult to understand and more urgent and irreplaceable for promoting the true good of man and woman.
Indeed, the scientific and technological progress, the modern man continually increases its control over nature, not only develops the hope of creating a new and better humanity, but also a deepening anxiety about the future. Some wonder if it's a good life or if it would not be born; doubt if we may call others to life, which may curse their existence in a cruel world, whose terrors are not even foreseeable. Others think they are the only recipients of the benefits of technology and exclude others, which means imposing contraceptives or even worse. Still others are captive and the consumer mentality and whose sole concern of a steady increase in material goods, they end up not understanding, and therefore reject the spiritual riches of a new human life. The latter reason mentalities is the absence in the hearts of men of God whose love alone is stronger than all possible fears of the world and can win.
is born and a mentality against life (anti-life mentality), as seen in many current issues: consider, for example, in a certain panic deriving from the studies of ecologists and futurists on demographics, sometimes exaggerate the danger of demographic increase the quality of life.
But the Church firmly believes that human life, even if weak and suffering, is always a splendid gift of God's goodness. Against the pessimism and selfishness which cast a shadow over the world, the Church is in favor of life: in each human life she sees the splendor of that 'Yes, of that "Amen" which is Christ himself. "No" which assails and afflicts the world, opposes the "Yes" living, thus defending the man and the world from all who plot and lowering life.
The Church is called to manifest anew to everyone, with a clear and firm belief, his desire to promote by every means and defend against all attacks human life in any condition or stage of development where they are.
why the Church condemns as a grave offense against human dignity and justice all those activities of governments or other authorities public, seeking to limit in any way the freedom of couples in deciding about children. Therefore, must be altogether condemned and forcefully rejected any violence applied by such authorities in favor of contraception including sterilization and procured abortion. At the same time, must be rejected as grossly unfair that, in international relations, economic help given for the advancement of peoples is made conditional on programs of contraception, sterilization and procured abortion. Pray the Spirit can find hearts willing to fight with love, strength, wisdom and sagacity in favor of life.

before yesterday I received a letter from a very personal friend, I shared the confidence of a co-worker who at 19 had an abortion, is now trusted him with 33 years ... . When asked to trust it not to judge ... he was far from it while I was confident that crying inside when he heard his confession. Traces of abortion remained in the heart of that mother and challenged this friend to be close, holding to love to whom it is shared. More than that, he fell upon his heart the question what I can do for her and to not repeat this in so many women?

They also encourage us to engage us because Jesus warned us: "the children of this world are more shrewd in their generation than the children of light" (Luke 16, 8).

Mother of the living,
to you we entrust the cause of life:
Mother looks upon the vast numbers of children
who be born,
of poor who is hard to live,
of men and women who are victims of brutal violence,
elderly and sick killed
because of indifference or out of misguided mercy.
Let those who believe in your Son may proclaim
with honesty and love to the people of our time
the Gospel of life.
Obtain for them the grace to accept as a gift ever new,
the joy of celebrating it with gratitude throughout their existence
and courage to bear witness to it resolutely,
to build, together with all people of good will
the civilization of truth and love,
to the praise and glory of God the Creator
and lover of life.
